Donna was raised in the Indian Valley of Southeastern Pennsylvania. While not an area often associated with Southern Gospel Music, her parents filled her world with this style of music and she fell in love with it at a very early age. As a child, attending concerts by groups such as The Blackwood Brothers, The Happy Goodman Family, The Cathedrals, Dixie Melody Boys, and Rex Nelon Singers filled her with a passion about the ability of music to communicate the restoration message of the gospel. While enjoying and performing various styles of Christian music, her first love remains the Southern Gospel style. Donna has attended the prestigious Ben Speer’s Stamps-Baxter School of Music in Nashville each summer since 2000. She has received private voice instruction with Glenn Wilson of Gainesville, Texas and has attended communication and performance seminars led by Allison Durham Speer. She has opened for numerous Southern Gospel groups, including Dixie Melody Boys, Kevin Spencer and Friends, Mercy’s Way, and River. Her recording experiences have included working with Jack Clark, former piano player for The Harvester’s Quartet, and John Darin Rowsey, former member of Karen Peck and New River. Donna is currently in the recording studio working on a brand new project that is scheduled for release in the Fall of this year. Her music has been shared in many different settings, including church worship services, camps and retreat centers, benefit concerts, retirement communities, and outdoor rallies. While keeping a schedule of solo appearances, Donna also travels with Harmony Sound Quartet. Donna accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior as a teenager. The journey of life has taken her through many ups and downs, triumphs and failures. Through it all, she has found God’s strength to be perfect and His grace more than sufficient. She has experienced the mercy of Jesus in abundant measure and her joy is to share this testimony through music. It is Donna’s desire to provide music that will encourage and minister to the needs of others. She strives to choose songs that will proclaim to those that listen that they are loved and forgiven. Through Jesus Christ, there is healing for the broken and hope for hearts that are hurting. It is Donna’s prayer that this message is clearly heard through her music.
