There is a crabapple tree outside of my
kitchen window. When its bright pink flowers burst I wonder if that’s how God’s blessings
sometimes go. How many do I miss because I’m not paying attention? I’m
keeping track of my overly crowded calendar,
It likely happens every day . . . a
considerate person holds the door open at the front of the store; walking
past the window at just the right time to catch that incredibly bright
yellow finch on the bird My world is often noisy. It’s full of distractions. Is my heart listening? Are my eyes really seeing? God is pouring out blessings on us every day. Are they going unnoticed? I need to pay more attention! ~ Donna Posted April 28, 2009

open in the spring, it is a beautiful site to appreciate. But you better be
quick about it! Those glorious flowers hit their peak and within a few short
days start floating to the ground below. You better be paying attention or
you could easily miss the gorgeous show. 
checking
things off the perpetual “to do” list, wasting time sulking over a
disappointment, frantically trying to finish a project that was supposed to
be done last week, or running to another appointment for which I will be ten
minutes late. And because my mind is stuffed with all of these, my eyes and
my heart miss precious moments when God breathes a blessing into my life. 
feeder; watching a little boy thoroughly enjoy an ice cream cone with his
mouth and a large part of the rest of his face; finding just enough change
in my pocket for that bottle of Diet Coke; stepping outside to feel a soft
warm breeze blowing into my face; a co-worker takes a minute to speak kind
words during a stressful day . . . you continue the list.
